'Tia & Tamera' showcases Tia Mowry's difficult pregnancy, Tamera Mowry's wedding plans

Tia Mowry says she did not have a good first pregnancy and that it was difficult to deal with it while trying to be there for her identical twin sister, Tamera, who was planning her wedding at the time.

The drama that unfolds is showcased in the former teen actresses' new reality show, "Tia & Tamera," which is set to debut on the Style Network on Monday, August 8 at 9 p.m. ET. This is the first time the 33-year-old sisters have both been cast members on a television series since their sitcom "Sister, Sister" ended in 1999 after six seasons.

In June, Tia Mowry and husband Cory Hardrict, who is also an actor, welcomed their first child, a baby boy named Cree. A month earlier, Tamera Mowry married Fox News Channel correspondent Adam Housley in Napa Valley, California.

"You will see Tia go through her pregnancy, her doctor visits, her choosing her type of birthing method and you'll see me planning a 300-person wedding," Tamera Mowry told OnTheRedCarpet.com host Rachel Smith in a satellite interview. "Tia is my matron of honor at my wedding but she's also pregnant at the same time. She didn't have an easy pregnancy."

"I didn't really have a good pregnancy," Tia Mowry added, without elaborating. "It was ... yes. And you'll definitely get to see some of that and that was difficult - trying to be there for my sister but then trying to deal with this whole pregnancy."

After "Sister, Sister" ended, Tamara Mowry went on to star on the shows "Strong Medicine" and "Roommates." She also voiced Ester on the animated series "Family Guy." Tia Mowry went on to star in the BET show "The Game." Tia and Tamera Mowry also appeared together in the 2002 comedy film "The Hot Chick" and in the 2010 television movie "Double Wedding."

The 8-episode series "Tia & Tamera" is based on a special that previously aired on the Style Network. "I think we decided to do this because we found out, over time, that my sister and I have a huge fanbase and they've been extremely loyal, I mean, for years," Tia Mowry said. "They always seem to show up with every project that my sister and I decide to come out with and we said, why not kind of give back to our fans?"

Sibling rivalry is apparent in the twins' new show, which also showcases the personality differences between the twins, who are identical aside from a mole on Tamera Mowry's face.

"We may have our disagreements, misunderstandings," she said. "Maybe not talk to each other for four days because we're upset with each other but in the end, we're always there for each other. We're a team. We've been a team since conception."
