Justin Bieber sundae on sale for $32 at Harrods in London

Fans of Justin Bieber are in for quite the treat at Harrods, an upscale department store in London.

The seven-storey shop's ice cream parlor has begun to sell a new sundae called the Bieber Bocker Glory, which costs 19.99 pounds sterling, or about $32. The dessert consists of vanilla and wild berry ice cream, fresh pears, fresh berries, lavender and edible glitter.

Harrods says the sundae was "inspired by the key notes" of the teen pop idol's "Someday" fragrance, which had its UK launch at the store over the weekend. The event drew scores of fans, mostly teenage girls.

The dessert will be sold at its ice cream parlor until the end of August and its proceeds are set to go to the Make A Wish Foundation, at Bieber's request, organizers said.

While the price for a Bieber Bocker Glory may seem steep, it is a bargain compared to the $25,000 Frrrozen Haute Chocolate sundae, a creation by the New York restaurant Serendipity 3 that set the Guinness World Record for the most expensive dessert in 2007.

That dish is infused with 0.2 ounces of edible 23-karat gold and contains 28 cocoas, an 18-karat gold bracelet with 1 carat of white diamonds, whipped cream covered with gold and a chocolate truffle. It is eaten with a gold spoon decorated with diamonds.

Harrods is located in London's posh Knightsbridge neighborhood and sells a variety of items, including designer clothes, toys, yachts and puppies. The store spans more than 4.5 acres and enforces a dress code that bans items such as shorts and flip-flops.

A Qatar investor bought Harrods last year from Egyptian businessman Mohamed al-Fayed, father of the late Princess Diana's boyfriend Dodi al-Fayed, in a deal reported to be worth around $2.3 billion.

Harrods' launch of Bieber's fragrance and its new sundae comes amid a recent wave of riots, mainly by youths, that have spread across London in recent days. Some of the violence has reached Knightsbridge.

"Thankfully we are not on fire," a message on the store's Twitter page said on Tuesday. "Harrods remains open for business as usual but our thoughts are with all affected."
